To get the most out of your visit, you’ll find all of the information you need here. You can pre-book at any time by clicking on the BOOK NOW icon at the bottom of the page.
Our planned opening hours for 2023 are as follows (the time shown is last admission, closing time is 1 hour later):
*Please note, the last tour of every day in term time is for adults only
27th December – 14th April 2024: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Our times beyond 14th April will be updated when we have the confirmed times for the new financial year, and that we are still taking bookings up to the end of 2024.
If you are booked onto a time slot, please arrive on time.
During busy periods, we will extend our opening times if there is enough demand.
Pre-booking online, or by calling 01904 615505, is advisable. Your visit around DIG is led by a real archaeologist, so all tours are timed.
Pre-Booking and refund policy
If you are not able to visit the attraction for your pre-booked slot, we can re-book your visit for a more convenient time. We are not able to offer refunds.
FREE admission for 12 months is included in your ticket.

Our Pastport includes entry into the JORVIK Viking Centre, Barley Hall, DIG and the City Walls Experience.
*Aged 3-16, accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 are free

***Please be aware that if you would like to pay with Tesco Clubcard Partner codes please exchange your points for a Clubcard Partner code via your Tesco account. You will receive an email with QR codes. When you arrive, please have your Clubcard Partner code (QR code) ready for us to scan. We will then give you a paper ticket. Please note that Clubcard Partner codes can only be used for single attraction tickets, and are not valid for any discounted or joint tickets. However, you can use them for a family of 4 and a family of 5. Please visit the Tesco Clubcard FAQs page for more.
Concession rates apply to any student with a valid ID card, or for anyone aged 60 or over.

We offer discounted tickets for NHS staff, members of the Armed Forces, carers and various other groups. Please note from 12th June, we are changing the way you pre-book with discounts, and you may no longer be able to book online.
