Be a part of local history & archaeology, and enjoy a range of exclusive benefits by becoming part of the Friends of YAT.

Friends of YAT

The Friends of York Archaeological Trust, established in 1975, is a volunteer-driven organisation supporting the charitable work of York Archaeological Trust (YAT), one of the leading archaeological charities in Britain.

By becoming a Friend of York Archaeological Trust you will be supporting YAT’s continued commitment to publicly accessible archaeology.  We strive to “Build Better Lives Through Heritage” via its offices in four UK cities, and five attractions in York. Your commitment and participation will support YAT’s core value of making a difference to people’s lives through open access to the past. You will also gain access to a wealth of professional archaeological knowledge and free entry to YAT’s award winning attractions in York – JORVIK Viking Centre, Barley Hall, DIG, and The City Walls Experience at Mickelgate Bar.

Your subscription will support an annual donation to YAT. This is to help further its role as one of the leading archaeology education and public engagement charities in Britain. We hope you will take great pride in knowing that through your support you will be directly contributing to the ongoing work of YAT, an organisation that has been educating and empowering people through archaeology and heritage for 50 years.

By joining Friends of YAT, you will receive:

  • Free admission to attractions
  • Attendance to exclusive lectures and tours
  • Archaeology training courses.
  • Discounts and more!
