We are so excited to invite you to come and see a working excavation at the National Railway Museum. The dig is being carried out as part of the Central Hall redevelopment works and involves the excavation of an open area of the Central Courtyard. A site talk will take place, with a presentation of finds from the dig and other objects uncovered during other excavations on and around the railways in York.
Tours will last approximately 15 minutes – tickets are free but you must pre-book.
Please meet at the side of the National Railway Museum Central Hall, Leeman Road.
The site tour route is paved and access is suitable for wheelchair users.
